Vietnamese badminton player Nguyen Thuy Linh, toxophilite Do Thi Anh Nguyet and rower Pham Thi Tone will compete.

Paris (VNA) – Vietnamese badminton player Nguyen Thuy Linh, athlete with Toxoid infection Do Thi Anh Nguyet and rower Pham Thi Tint will continue competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics on July 31 (Paris time).

After defeating Australia’s Tiffany Ho 21-6, 21-3 on July 30, Linh, world No. 26, will play American Beiwen Zhang, the tournament’s ninth seed and world No. 11, at 1:30 p.m. (Hanoi time).

This will be their next career meeting. The first was in October last year, when Linh won 17-21, 21-12, 24-22 at the 2023 Cold Open of Finland. Zhang had previously beaten Ho 21-10, 21-4 in the tournament’s most memorable match on July 29.

The winner of the July 31 match will qualify for the playoffs.

Meanwhile, athlete Nguyet will compete with Iran’s Fallah Mobina in the women’s individual archery qualifying round at 0:43 on August 1 (Hanoi time).

Rower Pham Thi Tone will compete in the women’s singles qualifying round at 15:14 (Hanoi time). In the quarterfinals, Tone finished sixth with a time of 7 minutes 56.96 seconds. With that result, her best result so far this year, Shade took second place in Asia and first place in Southeast Asia.

Despite not having a valuable chance of winning a medal at the Paris Olympics, Tint is still trying to find her place in the top 24. She will have to compete two more times to secure a place in that group.
